Eight youths‍‍` bodies return

Finally, the bodies of eight Bangladeshis who died in a boat sinking in Tunisia reached their village. When the bodies reached home in 78 days, the relatives burst into tears. The bodies were later buried in the family graveyard. On the one hand, the family is distraught after losing their beloved children, and on the other hand, the relatives and residents are angry because no action has been taken against the brokers. The dead bodies of eight Bangladeshis arrived at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on a Saudia Airlines flight from Tunisia at around 12:20 PM on Thursday. Later the bodies were taken to Dhaka Medical.

At the end of the legal process, Dhaka District Administration and Airport Police handed over the body to the family on Friday afternoon. Later, the dead bodies were taken to Rajair in Madaripur and Muksudpur in Gopalganj. The deceased were buried in their respective family graveyards after the religious rites on Friday night. Relatives said that on January 14, some young people from Rajouri and Muksudpur left home for Italy. First, they flew to Libya, then on February 14, they left Libya for Italy in an engine-driven boat through brokers. The boat caught fire and sank midway in the Mediterranean Sea off Tunisia. Sajib Kazi, Mamun Sheikh, Sajal Bairagi, Nayan, Kawsar, Rifad, Russell and Apan died in it. Notably, apart from 8 Bangladeshis, a Pakistani citizen also died in this accident. Some were rescued alive by the local coast guard.
